Why is everybody so obsessed with heavier-weight boxers? One of the best fights around is Brian Viloria v Hernan Marquez in a flyweight title unification battle, yet there's no TV deal signed and it's already been put back from September 29 to November 10. I have a horrible feeling it might fall through and the fighters go their separate paths, which would be a huge shame – these are two hard-hitting battlers with exciting styles.
Yet hardly any boxing fans know the fight is on the cards, even though it's bound to be more exciting than, say, Ward v Dawson. It seems to me that flyweights constantly get overlooked. What do people out there think?

I think it's criminal that they get such limited exposure. Marquez and Viloria are two of the most exciting fighters in boxing, not just at their weight. Most boxing fans probably haven't seen Marquez v Conception 1 which was the best fight of last year and I'd fancy Marquez v Viloria to produce similar fireworks.

Most unfortunate that somewhat pointless fights like Alvarez v Lopez this weekend are being promoted to the hilt and Marquez v Viloria could fall off the radar altogether.

Viloria v Marquez has now gone back to November 17, but the venue is still uncertain. There was talk of the Commerce Casino, which is east of downtown Los Angeles, but it seems that venue may be unavailable on that date. Whatever, it seems plain wrong that such a good matchup might take place in front of a few hundred bored gamblers when, as The Hurricane rightly says, nothing-special fights get the big Vegas treatment. Just wrong!

Viloria v Marquez is on for the Los Angeles Sports Arena on November 17. Looking forward to it!

Not only the Fly's but the Light Fly's also deserve better. Not sure if Viloria v Marquez was as good as Gonzalez v Estrada on the same card but both were amazing fights.
